What you get

Rāśi chart, both traditions

The D1 drawn in both North Indian (house-fixed) and South Indian (sign-fixed) styles, from the same computation.

Dignities and strengths

Exaltation, debilitation, own sign, combustion, retrogression, plus a sixteen-component Ṣaḍbala.

Pañcāṅga at birth

Tithi, nakṣatra with pāda, yoga, karaṇa and the vāra of your birth moment.

How Horā computes it

Planetary positions come from a high-precision astronomical ephemeris, sidereal with the Lāhirī (Citrapakṣa) ayanāṁśa, and bhāvas are whole-sign as in the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra. Sunrise and sunset are computed by rise-transit for your exact coordinates rather than assumed, which is why timings shift correctly with your latitude and the season.

The interpretation is not written by a language model. Each statement is a digitised classical rule and arrives with the text it came from, so you can go and check it. Where traditions differ, the convention Horā follows is stated in the reading itself.

The full method →

Three steps

  1. Enter four things. Name, date, time and place of birth. Horā resolves the coordinates and the historically correct UTC offset for you.
  2. Horā casts the chart. Positions, vargas, strengths, daśās and yogas — computed, not looked up.
  3. Read it with its sources. Every conclusion carries its confidence level and the verse behind it.

Questions

Is this really free?

Yes. The chart, all sixteen vargas, the daśās and the pañcāṅga are free and require no account.

Which ayanāṁśa does it use?

Sidereal Lāhirī (Citrapakṣa), the standard for Indian Vedic astrology. Houses are whole-sign, as in the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra.

What if I don’t know my exact birth time?

You can tick “I don’t know my birth time”. Horā will still compute the chart, but it will tell you plainly that the lagna and everything derived from the bhāvas is unreliable — it will not quietly pretend otherwise.

How accurate are the planetary positions?

They come from a high-precision astronomical ephemeris — the same class of computation professional astronomers use. Vedic Horā ships seven astronomical anchor tests that run on every code change.
